This is a bit of a plug for my sister's business but if you or anyone you know is off to New Zealand and in particular Queenstown (in the South Island) tell them to make the 45 minute drive to Glenorchy to take a horse riding trip at Dart Stables - www.dartstables.com.

They'll look after you if like me you've never ridden a horse before (went across fast flowing rivers, very exciting!) or if you're a lifetime rider you get chances to gallop etc.

The scenery around Glenorchy is simply stunning (take a look at the pictures in the gallery) and so if you just want a unique way to take it all in it's well worth it.
